Shalom dear friends!
We have been struggling to help feed a starving church in Western Kenya. I have known Pastor Festus for many years. At first when we were able to send money we found that our two or three hundred dollars was going to small group of ten or twelve people. They were given fairly large portions because they were afraid there would not be any more so they had better hoard whatever they had. I challenged them to trust God and share equally with as many other people as they could, who were also starving! It is a scary thing to take the food out of your own children’s mouths put it in the hands of your neighbors- even when they are not yet following Jesus. But they have done that and it has radically changed their church and village! Jesus’ teachings are so simple and yet so incredibly powerful!!
At the beginning of the year we were given $1500 for this village and church and we split it up over 3 months. It is tedious going over the food distribution numbers but without this food many were too weak to go to school or work- no one is expecting us to care for all the needs but it gives them a chance and it has brought great joy!! Those funds are gone now but our God is Great and He has always proved Trustworthy no matter where we live… it will be exciting to see how He will bring glory to His Wonderful Name from here!!
